I have played millions of rounds of twenty-one. I began sneaking into the gambling dens when I was sixteen. I have played online blackjack, I have counted cards, and worked as part of a team for a short time. With all that said I have still lost all kinds of bankroll at twenty-one. The casinos have made it very hard to defeat the game.
I still like the game and bet on a regular basis. Over this time period I have wagered on a variation of twenty-one called "The Take it Leave it Method". You will not get flush with this method or defeat the house, still you will experience a lot of fun. This method is based on the idea that chemin de fer seems to be a match of runs. When you’re hot your hot, and when you’re not you are NOT!
I play basic strategy vingt-et-un. When I don’t win I wager the table minimum on the next hand. If I don’t win again I wager the table minimum on the successive hand again etc. Whenever I hit I take the winnings paid to me and I wager the original wager again. If I win this hand I then keep in play the winnings paid to me and now have double my original wager on the table. If I win again I take the winnings paid to me, and if I win the next hand I leave it for a total of four times my original wager. I continue wagering this way "Take it Leave it etc". Once I don’t win I return the action back down to the original amount.
I am very strict and do not "chicken out". It gets very exciting at times. If you succeed at a few hands in a row your bets go up very quick. Before you know it you are gambling $100-200/ hand. I have had great runs a couple of times now. I departed a $5 table at the Wynn a couple of years back with $750 after 60 minutes using this method! And a couple of months ago in Atlantic City I left a game with $1200!
You must understand that you can relinquish a lot faster this way too!. But it really makes the game more enjoyable. And you will be amazed at the runs you see playing this way. Below is a chart of what you would bet if you continue winning at a five dollar game.

Take twenty dollar paid to you, leave the initial 20 dollar wager

Leave 20 dollar paid to you for a total bet of $40
Bet 40 dollar
Take 40 dollar paid to you, leave the original $40 bet
Bet 40 dollar
Leave forty dollar paid to you for a total wager of $80
Bet 80 dollar
Take 80 dollar paid-out to you, leave the original 80 dollar bet
Wager 80 dollar
Leave 80 dollar paid to you for a total wager of one hundred and sixty dollar
Wager $160
Take $160 paid to you, leave the initial 160 dollar bet
If you departed at this point you would be up three hundred and 15 dollars !!
It’s herculean to go on a streak this long, but it often happen. And when it does you mustn’t deviate and lower your wager or the end result will not be the same.
